Allow myself to introduce, myself.

Alright people, here we go. I used to have a blog and that turned into a book so this will be the second iteration of the former.
I mean, I’m not writing a book but you get the point… I want to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Scott. The first thing you need to know about me is that I’m a Christian. And I’m not talking about the Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen kinda Christian. Think R.C. Sproul (but not near as smart) or John Calvin (but nowhere near as smart or famous). But I am a Christian. I’m also reformed in my faith. We’ll go into more detail about that later. If you don’t know what that means, I’ll let you look it up.

The second thing you need to know about me is that I’m married to a stunning woman who is the mother of my two daughters (one due in November); my wife is my partner in life and my true help mate. She encourages me, reprimands me, prays with me, loves me, and cries with me and all that other stuff. We don’t have a perfect marriage but, by God’s grace, we’re working hard at getting better at this marriage covenant we have taken with each other and God.

Then there are the other things about me.
I love coffee.
Sometimes I yell.
I’m into fitness.
I like bourbon.
I’ve been known to smoke a pipe and/or cigar. (but not at the same time)
I like to laugh with brothers.
I’m a teensy bit sarcastic.
I LOVE all things theology.
I worship the God of the Bible as He has revealed Himself.
I can be a bit rough around the edges.
I like tattoos. And my beard.
I love a good debate…as long as we’re all civil about our disagreements.

The rest of it you can figure out as we go. Let’s talk about what we’ll be talking about (that seems redundant). I’ll be opining on lots of things probably. You’ll read a lot about the Bible, what God is teaching me in His Word and in life. I think that’s pretty much it for now. I will say one more thing. I have no problem if you want to disagree with me. As I said, I love a good debate. But here’s my rule. If you’re going to interact with me, let’s keep it civil. No name calling or general idiocy or I may feel the need (or want) to call you an idiot publicly and then that can start something that we all don’t need. So let’s keep it PG and civil. ‘Preciate ya.

See you all on the blogosphere.
